How Curriculum Selection Works at BCA
Bridge Charter Academy offers a variety of curriculum options for families to use in our program. Our ultimate goal in helping you choose a curriculum is to foster a strong partnership between parents and BCA staff, ensuring we make the best choice for each individual student.
Who will you partner with when choosing a curriculum?
Curriculum Specialists
Our licensed Curriculum Specialists are dedicated to and responsible for understanding the requirements and standards that make a curriculum great. This team spends their time researching and developing quality curriculum options for our families to use. Meeting with a Curriculum Specialist at BCA is a great way to explore a variety of curriculum options and how they can meet the needs of your student.

Learning Coordinators (K-8)
Learning Coordinators are the teachers for our K-8 program who will work with your student weekly. Their specialized knowledge of your student’s skills and strengths gives them a unique perspective on recommending specific styles of curriculum that may benefit your student.
Subject Area Specialists (High School)
Subject Area Specialists are the teachers for our High School program who will evaluate and support the academic work done by your high school student. Their knowledge of high school curriculum implementation and your student’s skills and strengths gives them a unique perspective on recommending specific styles of curriculum that may benefit your student.
High School Advisor
The High School Advisor is knowledgeable about the credits a high school student needs to earn to successfully earn a high school diploma. The High School Advisor can help make recommendations for courses and curriculum choices that will best support a student’s goals for after high school.
What does BCA look for in a curriculum choice?
As an accredited school, Bridge Charter Academy is committed to providing curriculum options that meet the Oregon education standards for all subjects and grade levels. Our curriculum options have been reviewed against the appropriate Oregon standards and we have taken the time to identify any gaps. When gaps are found, our curriculum coordinators and teachers will provide suggested tasks to supplement the main curriculum option. This practice ensures that all students are hitting the correct learning targets no matter what they choose for their main curriculum option.
