Sean is originally from Wisconsin, and came to Oregon in 2016 after five years in Denver Colorado. He has been an active musician since the age of 13 and received a BA in guitar performance from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee/Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in 1999, with an emphasis in Jazz and Classical Guitar Performance. In addition to many years of performance experience in various styles of music, Sean is also a published songwriter, recording engineer, and a longtime private lesson teacher. He currently works with several local bands, including the Basin Street Band jazz trio. Sean loves most to bring out students' creativity through music and to help each student gain a deeper understanding of not just how to play songs, but of how music works.

In his free time Sean prefers quiet pursuits like reading, nature walks, and slowly working on his model railroad, a hobby inherited from his grandfather. He lives in Springfield with his partner Lynette, three cats, and numerous houseplants.
