BCA Staff Details

Maya is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, and attended the University of Kansas for her undergraduate studies in linguistics and education. In 2022, Maya graduated with her master's in teaching from OSU Cascades. She has taught at elementary schools in Kansas and California, and has now found her home in Bend. This will be her third year at BCA, and she is so excited! Maya especially loves teaching reading, because it combines her knowledge of linguistics with her love of education and books. She is passionate about individualized learning and building strong relationships with each of her students.
In her free time, Maya loves to cook, bake, snowboard, and play board games. She loves music, and has played piano and sang for 20 years! She also speaks French and German and has been lucky to travel all over the world. Maya is very excited to continue her journey in kindergarten at BCA and can’t wait to meet all of the families and students this year!
